Check the Chip Day is coming up on August 15th.

Did you know 1 out of every 3 pets will go missing during its lifetime?  Without proper ID, up to 90% of these pets never return home.

Microchips greatly increase the chance of getting your pet back if he/she is lost or stolen…but a microchip only works if its registration information is accurate. Make sure your pet’s microchip info is up to date. Call us if you’re not sure how to do the update, or if you would like to get a microchip for your pet.

Here at Northern Veterinary Associates we offer Home Again Microchips. Dog and cat micro-chipping is a quick procedure. A veterinarian simply inserts a microchip beneath the surface of your pet’s skin between the shoulder blades. The process is similar to a routine injection and your pet will not react any more than he would to a vaccination. The chip is about the size of a grain of rice. No anesthetic is required so it can be done during a routine visit. You can also plan to have your dog or cat micro-chipped when they are under anesthesia for their spay/neuter. Your one time enrollment fee includes lifetime registration with Home Again.
