Hank and Masher Black

HANK AND MASHER BLACK

Over the years I have fallen in love many times with dogs that have filled my life with happiness. Hank and Masher were two of our favorites. Bringing them home as 8 week old puppies and having the pleasure of watching them grow was something I will never forget, each weeks growth measured by the adjustment of collars. Each boy reaching an impressive size and having hearts just as giant. If Hank knew you , he loved you, in his mind he was always that sweet small puppy that would love nothing more than to sit in your lap, rest his head on your shoulder and fall to sleep. He is deeply missed, when we lost him the house was so sad and quiet. Masher was my heart and soul. If you’ve ever had a dog, that one dog that moved into your heart as soon as you laid eyes on them then shattered it when they left you, that was him. My heart still hurts months later, I’ve never had a dog so in tuned with my emotions. I try to remember the times they made me laugh or smile, having giants dogs in your life makes things comical at times. I loved them each enough to bring home a new mastiff puppy, there is a lot of Hank, Masher inside of Spooner, I find myself laughing at his antics and thinking about the boys. Although I miss all of my dogs that have passed, there will always be a special place in my heart for my mastiffs Hank, Masher and Joie. Joie was our senior rescue mastiff we had for 11 short months before we lost her. Time with pets is never long enough, each and every one of them has had an impact on our lives. I can only hope they were as happy as we were, they enriched our lives and showed us the truest meaning of unconditional love. ~ Kim and Jim Black
